Just because the summer is going to come to a close doesn’t mean you can’t still have fun! Here are some great events in Calgary to help transition into Autumn.

Whether or not you yourself are Scottish, the Calgary Highland Games are going to be a great time on September 2nd. Come check out some incredible Scottish regalia, some world class pipes and drums, highland dancing, caber tossing and tons o’ tartan.

Taking place at the Springbank Park For All Seasons, this is a wonderful opportunity to spend a day in the sun while appreciating the culture of Scotland. Whether you’re a Scot, or not, details are here!

Come celebrate the full LGBTQ spectrum in Calgary! Calgary has a vibrant gay community and culture, and we will be celebrating that legacy August 25th to September 4th, with the Pride parade happening on September 3rd and follow it up with Pride in The Park at Prince’s Island Park for the biggest FREE cultural event in Calgary! Enjoy free live music, fabulous beer gardens, and all the best that pride has to offer. Check out the full schedule for all events!

Back in 1991, knowing that she was nearing the end of her life, Esther Honens knew she wanted to give a gift to her hometown of Calgary. Giving a very generous endowment she created the Honens Festival, a musical festival devoted to bringing the best piano players to our city.  Whether you love jazz, classical or pop, this is an amazing time of year for anyone who loves it when those ol’ ivories are tickled. Taking place over four days from September 7th to 10th, you can get a full schedule here!

If you’re visiting Calgary, you’ll find superior accommodations at the Best Western Premier Freeport Inn & Suites.
