Whether you love a good fright or just a safe, family-friendly costume event for you and the kids, Calgary has lots of options for celebrating Halloween in style! Check out some of these upcoming events to make the most of the spookiest time of the year!

Western Canada’s premier haunted extravaganza! Screamfest has been one of the best parts of Halloween in Calgary for years now, attracting bigger and bigger crowds every year since its inception in 2005… but this will be its last year EVER! That’s right after 13 years, Screamfest will close its doors forever. It will be sad to see it go but if there’s a silver lining to this ominous cloud, it’s that Screamfest will be closing with its biggest show EVER!

Come down to Stampede Park on weekends throughout October (and on weeknights the whole week before Halloween) from 7PM to 12 AM for the ultimate haunted house experience! Talented and committed actors play monsters, killers and aliens, vying to keep you on your toes while you enjoy Screamfest’s custom thrills, chills and spills! Just remember – if you miss this one, it’s gone forever!

What’s scarier… than KNOWLEDGE OOOoooOOOoooOOOooo! Okay, a lot of things. But if you want to combine the fun of Halloween with a learning opportunity for your kids, then look no further than Telus Spark Centre this October! Featuring fun interactive workshops on how to create slime (non-Newtonian fluids!), a fun tour of Frankenstein’s workshop (lightning, electricity and conductivity!) and creepy Jack O’Lanterns (agriculture!), this is a great way to make learning FUN!

This event begins on October 14 and runs to the end of the month. Bring the whole family!
