It’s already mid-July. You have to make the most of the summer before it ends. Come to Calgary this August to make sure you’re experiencing the very best of the season before the leaves start to fall.

If you want to make the most of your summer, then be sure to check out Chasing Summer. This fantastic music festival takes place August 3 and 4 and Max Bell Centre here in Calgary and features some of the best EDM in the world.

Seriously, check out this lineup:

The Chainsmokers: This DJ duo combine infectious beats with pop melodies that make you bob your head and sing along. They broke out a few years ago with their smash single “#selfie” and have been captivating audiences ever since. Their music is cool and seemingly effortless in a way that captures the Instagram cool of the 21st Century. We can’t wait to check them out.

Steve Aoki: One of the biggest names in EDM, Steve Aoki needs little introduction. In 2012 Pollstar calculated that he was the highest-grossing dance artist in the world and there’s little reason to suspect that’s changed in the intervening years. Aoki combines dirty, dangerous beats with driving sounds that make people go wild on the dancefloor. He’s going to blow the roof off the Max Bell Centre. Don’t miss it.

Alesso: If you can define an artist by their collaborators, Swedish DJ Alesso is among the very best; he’s worked with Tove Lo, Theo Hutchcraft, Ryan Tedder, Hailee Steinfeld, Calvin Harris, Usher, David Guetta, and Sebastian Ingrosso among many others. He makes groovy, woozy beats that feel like the beginning of a great night. If you don’t know him, go check out “Let Me Go” and report back; if you’re not a fan at that point, we don’t know what to tell you.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg for this great event. Make the most of the summer; book a room at the Best Western Premier Freeport Inn & Suites here in Calgary and refresh from a night’s dancing in our indoor pool and hot tub.
