The best place to stay in Calgary!

Calgary is a diverse town with all sorts of cultural experiences. Here are three very different cultures you can celebrate this August!

Besides being one of Calgary’s most welcoming suburbs, Okotoks is just really fun to say. Repeat it with us, now: “oh-cah-tokes.” Didn’t that bring a smile to your face?

What might also bring a smile to your face is knowing that on August 25, you can visit Okotoks for their annual Chili Fest! This fun, western-themed family event will feature dozens of hopeful chili chefs showcasing their finest chilis, all in hopes of proving that they’re the best! Come taste what they have to offer and enjoy live music… or even compete!

Travel to the Caribbean without leaving Canada! Carifest is an annual parade and festival that takes place in downtown Calgary and celebrates the culture of the Caribbean and the Indies! Enjoy an EXTREMELY colourful parade that starts at Olympic Park and heads down SW 8th Ave to Shaw Millenium Park, where you can take part in the Sunshine Festival! Enjoy the vibrant costumes, eat delicious food, and dance along to the exuberant music! Takes place August 25th – don’t miss out!

If there’s one thing Joe Rogan’s known for, it’s telling it like it is. Okay, so he’s known for LOTS of things – like being one of the UFC’s foremost announcers and commentators, hosting Fear Factor and The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, having a starring role in the classic sitcom Newsradio, and being a phenomenally funny stand-up comic – but he’s ALSO known for telling it how it is. On August 25th, he will be bringing his honest brand of observational comedy to the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.  Get ready to LAUGH!

If you want to experience Calgary, book a room at the Best Western Premier Freeport Inn & Suites Calgary. Our complimentary shuttle will pick you up at the airport at any time of the day – all you have to do is get to the city and we’ll take care of the rest!
